GE Healthcare is sponsoring our May meeting! Jacob Dewees RDCS will be presenting and he is the Clinical Leader for GE Healthcare Cardiovascular Ultrasound.

Presentation and Objectives:

Jacob will be presenting over “Advances in Strain Imaging.”

– Understand the concept of strain in general terms and the concept of strain with regard to myocardium.
– Understand how 2D Strain (speckle tracking) works and advantages.
– Understand how strain data is acquired and displayed
– Recognize normal and abnormal strain patterns and become familiar with the variety of parametric data displays available
– Become familiar with published data evaluating strain to evaluate LV mechanics and function in the context of specific disease processes and therapies
– Be introduced to 4D Strain and how the 4D Strain application works
– Be introduced to the concepts of myocardial work
– Be introduced to RV Strain and LA Strain
