Topic: Quality assurance for your most valuable instrument
This meeting will begin at 6:15 pm.
Presentation and Objectives:
Jennifer has agreed to come spread her knowledge at this next OSS meeting! This is a topic we need more of and most of us have probably forgotten how to do.
Objectives are as follows:
1. Identify clinical and safety issues associated with damaged or poorly performing transducers
2. Describe common ways transducers are damaged and how to identify a damaged instrument
3. Review current transducer quality assurance guidelines and recommendations for maintaining quality control
4. Define Spaulding classifications for transducer cleaning and disinfection
5. Review current infection control guidelines for the sonography laboratory
